Cost: $71 Million | Previous Use: Retail, Apartments | Current Use: Retail, Apartments

Project Details

Designed and constructed between 1959 and 1961, the Sterling Apartment Homes was rehabilitated by Denver-based Real Estate Investment Trust, Aimco. This block-long residential building was transformed into a vibrant urban, live/work environment. Updating this 30-story mid-century tower involved revitalizing the original retail arcade, updating the office floors, and refurbishing the 535 apartments with modern fixtures and finishes while retaining the mid-century aesthetic. The rooftop now houses a renovated pool and fitness center offering spectacular views of the city’s skyline.

Heritage secured approvals for state and federal historic tax credits for this project.
