In this month’s Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits, Heritage President Cindy Hamilton discusses how several states have made state HTCs available to nonprofit organizations. These credits can be paired with the federal HTC or used independently. These “state-only-credits” can provide a transformative financing solution for nonprofit property owners, such as Grace Episcopal Church in Madison, WI (pictured above). The church leveraged the Wisconsin HTC to help fund critical repairs to its masonry, windows, and roof.
