Stephen Girard Building

Philadelphia , Pennsylvania
Previous Use: Office | Current Use: Hotel

Project Details

Philadelphia’s former Stephen Girard Building was adapted into this 236 – room Canopy, a boutique Hilton Hotel. Situated in the section of the city rebranded as East Market, the Canopy is central to the revival of the pedestrian – oriented neighborhood, which blends urban shopping, living and dining in both historic and contemporary architecture. The $80 million rehabilitation incorporates classical millwork and display cases, which evoke the lineage of the neighborhood as the birthplace of the modern American department store
