Arrott Building / The Industrialist

Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania
Cost: $55,000,000 | Previous Use: Office | Current Use: Hotel

Project Details

Constructed in 1902, the historic Arrott Building was transformed into The Industrialist Hotel, a 124-room hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. The exterior masonry was restored and the interior was reconfigured to accommodate guest and meeting rooms. Heritage worked with the design team to tackle the primary challenge of making the main entrance both ADA accessible and functional to serve as the main entrance for the hotel. The elaborate marble-clad main elevator lobby was retained and sensitively adapted and is regarded as one of the most ornate lobbies in the city.

Heritage obtained state and federal historic tax credit approvals.
