Project Details

Heritage Consulting Group worked with North Carolina-based developer Ancora to secure historic tax credit approvals, making possible the rehabilitation of the former General Electric Campus in Fort Wayne, now Electric Works. The historic campus, which was in operation for almost 120 years and included over fifteen buildings, totals 700,000 square feet. After assessment found that the windows would need to be replaced, Heritage’s window expert partnered with experienced manufacturers that produced the new custom-designed insulated glass replacement units that embody the original windows’ delicate profiles, multiple glass plane shifts, and narrow sightlines.

Heritage was proud to be part of this highly transformative project, which serves as an exemplary model for the potential rehabilitation of former industrial complexes across the country. Heritage listed the site in the National Register of Historic Places and secured approvals for federal historic tax credits.
