Richardson Olmsted Campus

Buffalo , New York
Previous Use: Vacant hospital | Current Use: Hotel and Conference Center

Project Details

This project transformed this National Historic Landmark and one of Buffalo’s most iconic buildings into a hotel and conference center. Originally designed by the renowned architect Henry Hobson Richardson with landscape designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calver Vaux, the 100-acre complex was designed to accommodate enlightened principles in psychiatric treatment pioneered by Dr. Thomas Story Kirkbride. The rehabilitation converted the central buildings of the campus into the Hotel Henry Urban Resort Conference Center. Heritage successfully secured approvals for state and federal historic tax credits
