New Century Guild / Guild House

Philadelphia , Pennsylvania
Cost: $3,700,000 | Previous Use: Institutional | Current Use: Hotel

Project Details

The National Historic Landmark, New Century Guild, was meticulously restored into the Guild House, a boutique luxury hotel in Center City Philadelphia. Founded in 1882, New Century Guild is one of the oldest and largest organizations committed to advancing the interests of women in the labor force. This building served as the organization’s headquarters.

This project adapted the individual rooms, which retained extensive original features and millwork, into luxury hotel units. Heritage worked with the project team to convert a near-original architectural jewel into a functioning modern upscale hotel, meeting modern code requirements and sensitively incorporating new mechanicals into spaces that contained original floors, plaster walls and ceilings, and extensive millwork.

Heritage secured federal historic tax credit approvals.
